High Temperature Resistant Steaming Paper with Silicone Coated

Product Description

Sprui is a Steaming Paper Manufacturer supplying silicone-coated food paper for restaurants, food processors, frozen-food producers, packaging distributors and private-label food-paper brands.

Steaming paper is a heat-resistant filtration medium specifically designed for food steaming processes. Made from refined food-grade natural fibers, it ensures safe use in high-temperature steam environments. Its core function is to effectively separate food ingredients from moisture, preserve the original flavor and juice of the food, and prevent contamination, thereby enhancing cooking quality. Our factory is certified by ISO9001, HACCP, FSC, FDA and LFGB.

Round, Square or Equipment-Specific Liners?

Steaming paper dimensions should match the usable area of the equipment, not simply its advertised outside size.

Round Steamer Liners

Round paper is commonly requested for:

  • Bamboo steaming baskets

  • Round metal steamers

  • Dumpling trays

  • Dim sum preparation

  • Individual food portions

Buyers should provide the internal diameter of the basket and the required edge clearance. A liner that is too large can curl against the food or block steam passages, while a liner that is too small can leave part of the steaming surface uncovered.

Square or Rectangular Sheets

Square and rectangular sheets are suitable for:

  • Commercial steaming trays

  • Central-kitchen production

  • Frozen-food processing

  • Stainless steel pans

  • Conveyor or batch steaming systems

  • Larger food portions

The required dimensions should be based on the usable tray area, food arrangement and loading method.

Custom Shapes

When a standard round or rectangular sheet does not fit the equipment, custom shapes can be reviewed according to a technical drawing or physical sample.

Your drawing should identify:

  • Finished dimensions

  • Corner radius

  • Required holes or openings

  • Edge clearance

  • Food position

  • Tray ventilation areas

  • Dimensional tolerance

  • Packing orientation

Custom-shape feasibility depends on the design, converting method and order volume.

Advantages

1. Material & Craftsmanship: Made from 100% food-certified virgin wood pulp, with no chemical bleaching (food-grade bleached options available for select models), preserving the natural fiber structure and preventing the release of harmful substances. The product remains intact and does not deform even in steam environments above 100℃.

2. Heat Resistance: Engineered for professional-grade thermal stability, it withstands continuous high-temperature steaming (e.g., buns, fish, vegetables). The paper maintains structural integrity, emits no odor, and does not affect the flavor of food.

3. Filtration & Breathability: A micro-porous structure balances breathability and barrier performance—allowing even steam penetration while preventing food from becoming overly moist or sticking together. It also filters fine particles, helping keep broths and juices clear.

4. Safety & Environmental Sustainability: Complies with food safety standards (FDA & LFGB certified), free from fluorescent agents, plasticizers, and other additives. Some products use biodegradable materials, supporting sustainable food service practices.

How to Select the Right Grammage

The heaviest paper is not automatically the best option. Buyers should choose the grade according to food weight, surface moisture, steaming time, tray design, and handling method.

33–40 GSM for Lightweight Applications

Lower grammages are generally suited to lighter foods, shorter steaming cycles, and applications where the paper is fully supported by a flat tray or basket.

Typical uses include:

  • Small dumplings

  • Lightweight dim sum

  • Individual buns

  • Restaurant steaming baskets

  • Pre-cut sheets for short, single-use cycles

This range can help control material use in high-volume operations. Buyers should still verify that the paper provides sufficient wet strength for their food load and removal method.

41–50 GSM for Balanced Performance

Medium grammages provide a practical balance between flexibility, release, and handling strength. They are suitable when the food is heavier, the steaming cycle is longer, or workers need to lift the liner together with the food.

Typical uses include:

  • Bao buns and steamed bread

  • Frozen dumplings requiring reheating

  • Seafood and vegetable portions

  • Central-kitchen trays

  • Commercial food-processing applications

51–60 GSM for Greater Handling Strength

Higher grammages can be considered for larger portions, heavier food loads, longer contact periods, or applications requiring more dimensional stability.

Typical uses include:

  • Large buns

  • Grouped food portions

  • Large-format tray liners

  • Whole fish or heavier seafood

  • Large sheets requiring additional handling strength

Paper weight alone does not determine release performance or steam circulation. Sample testing under the intended cooking conditions remains important.

Silicone Coated Steaming Paper vs. Ordinary Paper Liners

Procurement FactorSilicone Coated Steaming PaperOrdinary Uncoated Paper
Food ReleaseDesigned to reduce stickingOften sticks to wet dough or requires added oil
Steam ExposureBetter suited to hot and humid contactCan absorb moisture quickly and weaken
Handling After CookingMore likely to remain intact when correctly specifiedGreater risk of tearing or leaving fragments
SurfaceDouble-side silicone coatingNo dedicated non-stick coating
Moisture ResistanceCoated surface reduces excessive absorptionWater can penetrate the paper more quickly
Custom SupplyCustom dimensions, printing, and packing availableFrequently sold as general-purpose paper
Best UseCommercial steaming and food-contact liningUses where release and wet strength are less critical

Food formulation, sugar content, starch, oil, surface moisture, cooking time, and tray design can all affect sticking. Buyers should compare samples under their real production conditions rather than selecting paper only from a specification sheet.
